3 Ways Newsletters Give You “Marketing Mojo”

Lucky bambooI do a lot of training on newsletters for other people’s lists, and one of the questions I get asked all the time is: Why are newsletters important to coaches (and others) who are trying to build their business?

What I say and believe is that there’s no other tool with as much “marketing mojo” as a newsletter, and I give at least 15 reasons why that is. I’d like to share three of those here.

1. Newsletters help you CAPTURE ATTENTION. A regular newsletter keeps you in front of your audience as an A-list, on-the-ball expert. It distinguishes you from others in your field who do not have a newsletter (and that’s most professionals) and makes you more credible. As people grow to know you over time, they trust you; and when they trust you, they’ll hire you when they need you.

2. Newsletters full of great content help you GIVE MORE VALUE. Any given newsletter issue can provide just the shot of motivation or insight your readers and prospective clients need. If you start sending a newsletter, you’ll be giving more value. If you send one more frequently than you have been, you’ll be giving more value. Giving more value makes you stand out from the crowd.

3. Newsletters help you STEP UP YOUR GAME. In today’s economy, there is no room for complacency or half-hearted efforts. Extraordinary opportunities are available to those who are 100% committed. A consistently delivered newsletter reflects that commitment — both to your audience and, internally to yourself.
